My oldest daughter Caitlin didn't go on any unchaperoned dates until she passed her 16th birthday.  That was the target date decided well in advance by her mother and me.  Groups of church youth at minature golf was cool. But the dude pulling up in a 4Runner solo? Not ok. I recall Caitie protested the age restriction somewhat at first, but she soon settled into acceptance.  And now, we have Janelle. Different story all together.  She is testing the limits daily.  Don't get me wrong, the guy she likes is a nice, friendly and polite church going fella.  But the rule is rule.

I recall last year about this time, the topic came up again.  Then, I had one of those rare flashes of brilliance.  Check out the conversation.

DAD:   Tell you what Janelle, I'll let my listeners decide for us.

JANELLE:  What?

DAD:   The teen age catgeory chosen by my listeners in a kid dating opinion poll will on my personal web page be the determining factor of how old you need to be to date.  Majority rules.

JANELLE:  Good, then I'll message all my friends to vote!

I wish I had a camera that would have captured her mother's face when she came out with that, but I'm sure you could use your imagination.   So, I am in a bit of a dilema. Parents, please vote below.  Help a brother out.
